Mike Guyton serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Officers for Oncor with system responsibility for business operations including communications, community relations and customer and market operations.
Mike began his career at TXU while a student at the University of Texas at Arlington. He worked as a co-op student employee while earning a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. The company hired him upon graduation as a staff engineer. Guyton then served as a power consultant, district operations manager and customer engineering services manager.
He went on to hold the posts of region distribution manager and region customer service manager. In 1997, Guyton became manager of new construction. In 2001, he was promoted to director of business management. Later that year, Guyton was named vice president of TXU Electric & Gas, where he was responsible for the electric and gas distribution business administrative activities. In 2002, Guyton became vice president of Oncor Electric Asset Ownership responsible for economic development, relationship management, Transmission services, and customer and market services. In March 2003, Guyton served as vice president of gas asset services for TXU Gas, where he managed the combined gas distribution/pipeline services, and storage operation.
In May 2004, Mike served as vice president of customer service for TXU Energy, responsible for developing and implementing customer and market services processes and performance metrics, and accountable for the processes from customer enrollment to customer billing.
In January 2005 Mike served as vice president Communications and Community Relations for Oncor Electric Delivery, responsible for leading the efforts pertaining to communications, contributions, sponsorships, employee volunteer programs.
In July 2006 and prior to his present position, Mike served as Vice President of Customer Operations for Oncor Electric Delivery, with Community responsibility for the City of Fort Worth and Tarrant County. Mike also had system wide responsibility for large commercial and industrial customers, economic development, and street lighting.
Mike serves on the Executive Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Texas; Past Chairman of the Board of The Tarrant County Metropolitan United Way; Board of Trustee and Vice Chair for THR Harris Methodist Hospital; Board of The Fort Worth Zoo; Executive Board and Economic Development Committee Chair of The Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce; Executive Board of Downtown Fort Worth Inc.; JPS Foundation Board; UTA Fort Worth Advisory Council; UTA Foundation Board; Executive Board and Secretary of the Fort Worth Sister Cities; Fort Worth Promotion and Development Fund Board; Board of the Rotary Club of Fort Worth; Water From the Rock Board; Executive Board and Secretary of Fort Worth North Texas LEAD; and the Board of the Fort Worth YMCA.
